SHANNON ALLEN, CCC, MACP

Staff Therapist

Shannon holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC). She also holds an undergraduate degree in Human Ecology with a specialization in Family Studies from the University of Alberta. As a Human Ecologist, Shannon worked with clients following a holistic approach by honouring all their relationships and all levels of their environment. This lends well to her new role as a perinatal counsellor.

Shannon worked for a number of years with a non-profit organization supporting teen parents and their families. Her professional work experience also includes supporting young adults in a community setting from a strengths-based perspective. She is a wife and a mother of two daughters, and a newborn son. Her passion to continue working with mothers in a therapeutic setting has been guided by the loss of her first daughter and the unexpected journey of motherhood. As such, Shannon specializes in reproductive grief counselling and is our primary bereavement therapist as a Grief Support Certified Counsellor, with additional training in ACT Grief and Loss.
