Intern Counselling Student

Shannon is a practicum student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program with Yorkville University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Human Ecology with a specialization in Family Studies from the University of Alberta. She is also a Professional Human Ecologist (PHEc) and a member in good standing with the Alberta Human Ecology and Home Economics Association. As a PHEc, Shannon works with clients following a holistic approach by honouring all their relationships and all levels of their environment.

Shannon worked for a number of years with a non-profit organization supporting teen parents and their families. Her professional work experience also includes supporting young adults in a community setting from a strengths-based perspective. She is a wife and a mother of two daughters. Her passion to continue working with mothers in a therapeutic setting has been guided by the loss of her first daughter and the unexpected journey of motherhood.
